My First poem of the year.

A Silent Question

My Blood and Family lay there still;
while ice and snow fell down.
I survived with only my last breathing will,
Brother next to me lay
For on his brow bloomed a bloody crown.

They promised, promised no harm,
if we came out and stand.
Next my sister has no arm;
and now she forever lays on the land.

My Clan, my Family lay their cool,
their souls taken and drained.
Their blood on ice ground pool.
The eyes open to the sky,
asking a silent question of why.

Their bodies ridden and left in snow
mother above brothers all in one
After days of sorrow and rot, bodies were thrown,
their souls and limbs come undone.

As pale faces throw them to a grave,
I came upon a familar face
I looked at the small body, every trace
