Temptation

Petal, little Petal dancing
in the air, with glee.
Leaf, little Leaf clinging
to his big, strong tree.
Little Petal dances around him
coaxing him into play
gently. Friendly she seems
when she asks him
if there he's going to stay.
Leaf, little Leaf nods his little green head,
then he turns away.
Mama Tree warned him about
what the Flowers would try.
All they do is sin
and spin beautiful lies
to lure him away.
They send little petals, pretty and sweet
to make leaves like him admit defeat.
So here's he going to stay
here he is going to cling
until little Petal dances away.
